Product Information
Information on different kinds of solid wood...
Wood is a wonderfully lively and individual material. With its very comfortable and warm aura, it is ideally suited to present children a world full of protection, creativity, and phantasy. This is why manufacturers like Pinolino use this natural and environmentally sound material to produce children`s furniture and toys. We only sell European wood from secure reserves, and resign from tropical wood consistently.
The beech is said to be the queen of deciduous trees. She grows very slowly, and only at the age of 100 to 140 years becomes valuable timber. Her hard and dense wood is excellently suitable for the production of high-quality, heavily stressed objects. Depending on the sort, beech wood is either pleasantly light or ginger coloured with an even, tender grain. It slightly darkens.
The spruce is widely spread across Central Europe. She is a grand tree and grows up to 30 to 40 metres. Spruce wood is flexible and thus ideal for woodworking according to ancient handcraft tradition. Spruce wood is honey-coloured with a straight, decorative grain and oval knotholes. Spruce wood darkens pleasantly warm and yellow-shaded.
The pine tree is said to be very robust, and after the ice age, migrated as one of the first trees back north into the ice free regions. She is widely spread among Central Europe. The pine wood character is a straight, contrastive grain with an obvious growth ring structure. Pine wood is honey-coloured with reddish accents and darkens in ginger shades.
The alder is spread among wide parts of Europe and flourishes best in moist climate. After 30 years already, the alder is full-grown with 20 to 30 metres of heighth and can be used for forest industry without predatory exploitation of nature. Alder-wood is characterised by a special grain and a beautifully reddish-brown colour which makes each alder-wood object unique. Alder-wood is especially resistant to light and thus hardly darkens.
Woodworking
Different woodworking methods at our products:
Solid wood furniture is completely made of wood.
Solid wood toys are made of solid wood and high-quality, wear-resistant plywood board.
Half-solid furniture contains solid wood as well as chipboard and hardboard. The latter ones used for fillings and backs, usually, to be able to offer low-priced products.
Wood decor furniture, eventually, is made of chipboard only coated with white or wooden veneer layer.

Foil Articles
Foils are being welded through the thermal liner. Contrary to sewed changing mats, the weldseam is perfect, does not rip and is absolutly waterproof. Modern high-frequnecy welding machines are being used, guaranteeing a high quality. All used foils are made according to EN 71-3. Certainly, only foils without harmful phthalates are being used. Furthermore, foils do not contain harmful dosages of DBP (Dibutyl Phosphate) or TBP (Tributyl Phosphate). Soft polyester liners or CFC-free foam systems are being used as fillings. Thus, our articles are absolutely safe to babys and wipe-clean.
We offer our foil changing mats in different qualities: with puffy thermal liner and double-sided, colourfully printed foil as super-soft changing mat, with thick thermal liner as comfort changing mat and with fleece liner as "changing trough".
Since there are little trickling accidents: leak-proof weldseams guarantee best hygiene compared with sewn seams since no liquids can enter the changing mat.
