Babyvita was founded in 2000. We were still absorbed in our studies and - expecting a baby! The search for baby euipment for our little one wasn`t easy. As anyone knows - students are always run out of money. But we had clear notions on how the nursery of our daughter should look like, and since we could not find anything adequate in the Berlin resident nursery shops, we went searching the vast and informative www. Small ebay dealers and online shops offered very beautiful nurseries, but prices were horrific! And we were not willing to pay them. Thus, in the small and contemplative village Bad Sachsa a retail shop for baby and infant equipment was founded!
An internet presence was possible via the auctioneers ebay. But charges were increasing rapidly for us, and we did not want to bother our customers with these fees. So, we had to found an internet shop of our own. But - how? None of us had ever grappled with HTML or other programming languages. After some bustle about and help from professional providers we succeeded. www.babyvita.de went online for the first time in 2003!
The years passed by, so did the years of study (at least for one of us), and business became lucrative. Today we have grown into a minor establishment. We now occupy a small team of full time and part time employees, student assistants, and - now and then - trainees.
We are able to stick to our low prices because we pass along buying discounts to our customers. Thus, we have got the same attractive terms as Tom, Dick and Harry with small internet businesses at home.
